Maison Sainte-Thérése by Maisons & Co.

Back in February, my husband and I were fortunate to have a quick getaway for Valentine’s at the chic boutique hotel Maison Sainte-Thérése in the romantic city of Montreal.

The Hotel & Rooms

Maison Sainte-Thérése has a deep rooted history. It was formerly a well renowned library in the 1800’s that attracted aristocrats all over Montreal. It has been modernly converted into a boutique hotel, while all the charm and character or the original architecture remains. The exposed original brick and stone walls from the hotel’s time as a library, adorn the walls, while the finishings and furniture are contemporary, giving that modern luxury feel for the guests. With only seven rooms in the hotel, Maison Saint-Thérése is definitely cozy, chic and represents Montreal’s unique flare and culture. Despite being a much smaller hotel, the rooms are fully equipped with all the necessary amenities and more. With fully stocked kitchens and bathrooms, Smart TVs, fresh linens and towels, organic bath products, laundry access, high-speed WiFi and my personal favourite, a Nespresso machine, Maison Saint-Thérése makes sure all of their guests needs and luxuries are taken care of.

The Location & Nearby Attractions

This chic hotel is located in the heart of Montreal’s Old Port. The convenient location means you are merely steps away from restaurants, boutiques, museums and the river boardwalk. The historical Old Port offers a variety of activities, including the Montreal Science Centre and the Montreal Clock Tower. There are so many charming cafés and patisseries to indulge in and enjoy, especially if you have a sweet tooth and appreciate the art of European pastries

and food.

The Scandinavian Spa

What my husband and I really enjoyed was visiting the Scandinavian Spa, the perfect place for a relaxing retreat. The urban spa carries out the ancient traditions of Scandinavian baths, providing the ultimate relaxation experience, combined with hydrotherapy and massage. The spa is home to a thermal waterfall, a eucalyptus steam room, a Finnish dry sauna, a cold plunge pool, and my personal favourite, their heated slate bench and noise-free Zero Stress room. The facilities really allowed us to step away from the hustle and bustle of life and find sanctuary at the spa.

Overall, our short stay at Maison Saint-Thérése was phenomenal. We loved the rustic yet contemporary feel of the hotel and how we were surrounded by history. The location was perfect for exploring Montreal and what the beautiful city has to offer. I would definitely stay at this chic hotel again, and also highly recommend Maison Saint-Thérése to you!
